“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.
But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” (Proverbs 29:2)
ChristenUnie in city district council Amsterdam Zuidoost
On 16 November 2000 the ChristenUnie-Amsterdam was set up as the local branch of the ChristenUnie.
The ChristenUnie has been represented in the Dutch Parliament for many years (since the 1970's).
In March 2002 we won our first seat in Amsterdam. Our first stronghold. Yvette Lont could take a seat in the Amsterdam Zuidoost (one of Amsterdam's districts).
In 2006 and 2010 we were able to keep our one seat in Zuidoost, but did not manage to get our first seat in the central city council.
The ChristenUnie Amsterdam Zuidoost not only wants to address the needs of Christians in SouthEast, it also wants to be a voice for all people in the area. Our foundation is God’s Word and we depend on the Holy Spirit. We want to build a healthy and positive life in Amsterdam. We want to see Amsterdam SouthEast enter into a good future, and that God’s voice will again be heard in politics.
